Frozen iPod Touch? Does your iPod Touch not turn on or not sync to your computer? There are a few ways to perform a soft reset on the iPod Touch to get it up and running again.

How To Reset an iPod Touch

1.) Method 1 – Hold the hold button at the top of the iPod until the slide to power off screen appears. Slide your finger to power off the iPod. Then, hold the hold switch until the iPod turns back on and the Apple logo appears on the screen.

2.) Method 2 – Hold the Menu and Hold buttons at the same time until the iPod restarts and the Apple logo appears.

3.) Method 3 – If your iPod boots, go into the system preferences and then General –> Reset. There you will find several settings to reset the iPod Touch.

If your iPod Touch still will not sync to a computer, try these additional steps.

1.) Try another USB port on your computer.
2.) Restart your computer.
3.) If you don’t already have it, download the latest version of iTunes.

No, this won’t work in all cases, but it’s the first thing to try before you start going into the guts of the iPod to diagnose a problem.

How To Reset iPod with Clickwheel

*The clickwheel models include the iPod Nano, iPod Classic, iPod Video (5th Generation), iPod 4th Generation, and the iPod Mini.

1.) If your iPod is connected to a computer, disconnect it.
2.) Move the hold switch to the hold position and then back to the original position.
3.) Press and hold the select button and the menu button at the same time until the Apple logo appears.(Usually about 4-6 seconds.)
4.) The iPod will now reset and reboot back into the main menu.

How To Reset iPod with Scroll Wheel

1.) If your iPod is connected to a computer, disconnect it.
2.) Move the hold switch to the hold position and then back to the original position.
3.) Press and hold the play button and the menu button at the same time until the Apple logo appears. (Usually about 4-6 seconds.)

If your iPod still will not sync to a computer, try these additional steps.

1.) Try another USB port on your computer.
2.) Restart your computer.
3.) If you don’t already have it, download the latest version of iTunes.

So Why No Tracking?

The Wi-Fi iPads shipped directly from China. Therefore shipping confirmations went out early. Our sources are saying these iPad shipments are already in the US, waiting at hubs, ready to go out. So most likely shipment confirmations will be going out late today or tomorrow. They’re also supposedly shipping via FEDEX instead of UPS this go around.

When Apple promises a ship date, they deliver. They’ve never failed. Apple is sneaky, and usually they’ll hide shipment information on new releases until the very last minute, but in the end, the product is always there when they say it will be.

With the new Apple product lines introduced, Apple has moved from the old 11-digit serial number system to the new 12-digit system. This change of course required some adjustments to our Mac Serial Number system.

The new MacBook Pro 15″ and 17″ models released last Tuesday with the Core i5 and Core i7 processors appear to use this new 12-digit serial number. These new models will most likely not be in our system yet, so we need your help in order to make our Mac model identification tool the best available. We have made the adjustments to our system to allow for these new serial numbers, but we need as many user submissions as possible to build our database and fix any bugs that may crop up with the new system.

To submit your info, simply type in your serial number into our Mac Serial Number system. Then if our system can not identify your machine, include any information it asks for. You can type any additional info into the comments field.
