Maribel 8 years ago	@jim c - I have taken my kindle apart to replace charging port and when removing the damaged charging port the pads on the board were removed along with the damaged one is there a way to repair that? I can see 4 on there partial yet the 5th is not there.
mary dale 9 years ago	My Kindle Fire screen remains dark and unresponsive after losing charge and trying to recharge overnight. Green charging light is on.

Powerbook Medic 9 years ago	@laura - that sounds pretty weird. I would try to restore it to factory defaults if you can first. After that, we'd really have to see it in shop. May be the motherboard, unfortunately.
laura 9 years ago	screen froze while watching video on netflix. waited till battery ran out since power button nor screen touch working. charged several hours. get kindle fire lit on screen, zero function on power buttons or touch. 1yr old kindle fire hd 7"

Stacy C 10 years ago	I broke off the black tab for one cable and though I can get them oriented properly, I can't seem to get them seated well enough to get the unit to boot. The screen lights briefly, but then nothing. Could you repair the cable connections?
Sheila 10 years ago	I dropped my Kindle face down and unfortunately it cracked the screen. Everything else is working. I can move my finger across to unlock the screen. Can this 7 inch screen be replaced?

Shelley M. 11 years ago	My Kindle Fire HD 8.9 will not turn on. After charging over night all that happens is I get a blank, black page with a white broken line on the left hand side. Any help would be greatly appreciated. P.S. This my 4th Kindle

carrie 11 years ago	The glass is not broken kindle fire hd but the image is broken lines and white background.... im assuming its the lcd. Can you tell me which part (s) I need to order?
Powerbook Medic 11 years ago	@Karen - is it the LCD or glass that is cracked? If it is the glass, you'll just need the glass and digitizer assembly sold to the right. This will fix both issues. If the LCD is damaged, you'll need both the glass and LCD.
Karen 11 years ago	my kindle fire screen is cracked. It powers on but you can't slide the arrow over to get on to it. Can this be repaired and if so how much would it cost?
Powerbook Medic 11 years ago	@Melanie - it is hard to say without opening it up and checking for damage. It could be as simple as the battery but it usually ends up being the motherboard.
Melanie 11 years ago	Very informative video. Is their a way to tell which part I need to replace. My Kindle Fire took a dive into the tub for about 20 sec. The power light blinked and then went out. Now it won't power on. Any suggestions will help.

Steve B 11 years ago	Do you folks sell the retaining 'latch' for the slide in 8 wire ribbon cables? I got mine apart for battery replacement but the ribbon cable connector next to the battery cable connector popped off and the plastic ribbon cable retainer went flying or disintegrated. Let me know a part number and I'll buy it!
