Ipad Wifi is causing FEC errors on ATT Uverse Modem when accessing any internet activity. Mostly the Ipad is used for youtube, email and sometimes facetime. What is the most likely cause of the FEC errors? Wifi logic board maybe?

Thank you for your time. Thought I was going mad there.

@Jono - Ah it does look like the Kindle app requires iOS 7.0 which is not supported by the first gen iPads. An iPad 2 is required.

Jono

The Kindle app does not show up in the app store. There is a kindle app for magazines not books.

@vc - you can restore it from within the settings, general menu if you can get that far. otherwise, you can restore it after syncing it up to iTunes.

I've done the screen replacement and it looks good - the problem is that if any camera app is started, the iPad reboots. Does anyone have any ideas?

Carol Myers

My problem is I put the SIM card in wrong and can't get it out. I didn't use the little bracket that was in the slot originally. Is there a tool I could purchase or do I need to take the ipad apart.

i have a similar problem with YAZZ. what can I do.

Powerbook Medic

@Mac K - it is just adhesive, so once you have the digitizer connected back, you just stick it back in.

Mac K

How do you put the glass & panel back on? Does it just snap back in? Do you have a re-assembly video?

Powerbook Medic

@dantor - probably a battery issue.

Powerbook Medic

@vince - if nothing at all comes on the screen and it doesn't get detected by your computer when you try to sync it up, it is most likely the logic board.

vince

@Alex - the wifi and 3G models are not interchangeable.

Alex

What about changing logic boards from 16gb wifi to 32gb wifi + 3G is that possible assuming other parts are also upgraded such as sim card antennas etc.

@Don - no, but you may need some additional adhesive.

Don

Do you need to replace the pads when replacing the glass and digitizer panel assembly?

Powerbook Medic

@Griffster - no the RAM is built onto the logic board. It is not upgradeable.

Griffster

Excuse me... 16GB to 64GB

Griffster

I did not see where the memory was... Is it possible to upgrade a 16MB version to a 64MB version?

Powerbook Medic

@Mike - great question, no idea. They have disappeared from every source imaginable.

Mike

Hi, when you'll get volume/lock/power button flex at stock?

Powerbook Medic

@Miguel - it is hard to say. it could be a problem with the replacement logic board or some loose connection inside somewhere. You may want to open it up and reseat all the boards and cables or take it somewhere to be professionally diagnosed.

I have a ipad back case, midboard, glass and digitizer.... what other parts would i need to create a functional ipad thanks

Powerbook Medic

You'll need a heat gun to separate the digitizer from the midboard, but you'll have to be careful as those home buttons are easily susceptible to melting.

Bryan

Have you tried using a heat gun to loosen the adhesive connecting the LCD to the Digitizer?
